The Methodology
Admire from Afar™ is the original ethical wildlife documentation methodology I developed for Salt + Noelle. Telephoto-only, distance-based, behaviorally-informed. The methodology aligns with NOAA wildlife viewing guidelines, the Marine Mammal Protection Act, and the standards required for CAWS certification through Sea Otter Savvy. Every Salt + Noelle field assignment runs on it.
Branding
The methodology developed over years of field work and was formalized as a brand and visual system in 2025. It now appears as a watermark on Salt + Noelle photography, an educational banner used in field guides and partner materials, a merchandise line, and an Apple Wallet pass for fast reference. It includes specific distance protocols by species, behavioral cue thresholds for ending an encounter, and a public commitment to never bait, call, or otherwise alter wildlife behavior for an image.
